We opened where the invitations already happen.
MAYZ is in Blackburn because weddings, Eid evenings, winter dinners and last-minute tables already happen here. A warehouse with a photograph of a marble table would have been easier. A door you can find from Blackburn Mall is more useful.
Higher Church Street sits just off the town centre. The opening post named the street, the postcode and the Mall on purpose. If you can find the Mall, you can find us: 12 Higher Church Street, BB2 1JG, about a minute on foot.
What the street gives the cloth.
The street is quiet enough that you can hear a coat slide on the rail. Daylight through the window is how the ivory silk should be judged. Come in the day if you can. Evening lighting makes champagne satin look richer than it will at lunch.
