Silk and satin
Steam, never iron the face. Hang overnight. Then wear it.
This page is only about looking after the cloth. It is not a product page and it is not the alterations worktable.

The ivory column.
Specialist dry clean only. Do not wet the silk to take a crease out. Hang it on a padded hanger the night before you wear it, in a room that is not a steamy bathroom. If a crease remains, a garment steamer held a hand's width away will lift it. An iron on the face of the silk will not. It will shine a patch you cannot undo.
The lining is silk habotai. It wants the same patience. Store the gown in the cotton bag, not in plastic. Plastic sweats. Silk remembers that.
The champagne midi.
Satin shows a hand more readily than crepe. Dry clean. Store in the cotton bag. If you sit through a long lunch, hang it as soon as you are home so the seat does not set. The built-in short lining is there so the satin does not cling; it is not a reason to machine-wash.
The black column and the coat.
The evening column is satin-backed crepe: hang overnight, dry clean when the season ends, never wring. The Church Street Coat wants a brush and air after rain, and a dry clean at the end of winter. Do not steam the wool so close that the nap flattens.
