Evenings
Cloth for the evenings you actually attend.
This page is not a season lookbook. It is about the invitations that already happen in this town.

Blackburn does not wait for fashion week.
The evenings we cut for are local and real: a wedding in a hotel on Preston New Road, an Eid gathering, a winter dinner, a table booked late. The ivory column is for the invitation that asks for a gown. The black column is for the one that asks for black. The champagne midi is for the hours that are neither fully day nor fully night. The coat is for the pavement between the car and the door.
We named the black dress for the town rather than for a season because it is meant to live here. If a piece cannot survive a wet Higher Church Street and still look like itself indoors, it does not earn a hanger.
What to try first.
If you have one hour, try the coat over the black column, then the same coat over the midi. That single comparison tells you more than a grid of thumbnails. Bring the shoes you will actually wear. The fitting room is at the back, with a chair for whoever came with you.
