The rail
Nine pieces. That is the whole house on purpose.
This page is the argument for a short rail: four pieces of cloth, three bags, two pearl accessories.

A long rail makes a customer feel late.
Department stores teach you to hunt. A boutique should teach you to decide. The opening rail at MAYZ is nine pieces because that is how many we can honestly stand behind: an ivory silk column, a black evening column, a champagne satin midi, a black wool coat, a noir top-handle, a limestone tote, a cognac shoulder bag, a baroque pearl strand, and pearl-drop hoops.
They were chosen together. The lining of the coat is the colour of the midi. The noir bag sits where you can see it against the ivory gown. The pearls are strung short enough for both necklines. Nothing is a leftover from a different story.
How to walk the rail.
Start with the invitation you actually have. If it is a gown evening, begin with ivory or black. If it is a long afternoon that becomes dinner, begin with the midi and the coat. Then take the bag that matches the hours, not the photograph. The pearls are last, because they finish a neckline that is already decided.
