The Church Street Coat is the piece that makes the rest of the rail make sense. Blackburn weather does not care that you have dressed. This coat is cut in a dense black wool with a soft shoulder, a narrow sleeve, and a hem that finishes below the knee so an evening dress is covered on the walk from the car.
Inside, the lining is a dull champagne cupro, the same family of colour as the satin midi, so the coat and the dress feel chosen together even when they were not. There are two internal pockets deep enough for a phone and a lipstick, and a single button at the waist that you can leave open.
We will alter the sleeve length in the shop. Shoulders are cut clean and are not recommended for heavy alteration. If you are between sizes, take the larger one: the coat is meant to close over a dress, not to replace one.
